Court Sides With LG in Case Against Whirlpool
An appeals court has ruled in favor of LG in a patent dispute over washing machines, LG announced Sunday. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit upheld a ruling by a lower court that LG may continue selling a washer that Whirlpool believes infringes on two of its patents.
Concerning LG's "Impeller" technology, used in the Profile Harmony washing machine, the litigation had been ongoing for more than five years. An LG spokeswoman told Dow Jones Newswires the company is "99 percent sure" the case is now over.
