CyberLink PowerDVD 11 Reaches Retail
PC software developer CyberLink has just released PowerDVD 11, the latest version of its media playback software for PCs. Available in Ultra, Deluxe and Standard versions, it follows the company’s PowerDVD 10 software packages into the market, and includes a suite of new multimedia- and smart-device- support features, as well as improvements to CyberLink’s TrueTheater image- and sound-content enhancer.
CyberLink’s Steve Alten, director of business development, said the new software was the next step in a multi-generational product line that has seen iterations in both full-blown consumer versions and in OEM versions that are offered to PC manufacturers for inclusion in their products right out of the factory. He added that the company’s partnerships with hardware makers through its 14 years have “given us a unique awareness about what upgrades to sell at retail. With OEM and consumer sales combined, our PowerDVD products have been our biggest product line, followed by our PowerDirector video editing software with hardware optimization features.”
CyberLink said that Version 11 will improve the viewing experience for all HD media, including Blu-ray, upscaled standard DVDs, videos or photos with optimized CPU/GPU hardware acceleration technology and offers Blu-ray 3D and native 3D video support as well as 2D-to-3D conversion capability not just for video but also for digital still photos and slideshows.
