Da-Lite Expands ALR Portfolio with Parallax Stratos 1.0
Da-Lite announced a new addition to its ambient light rejection (ALR) screen portfolio with the launch of the new Parallax Stratos 1.0. Available in a wide array of core Da-Lite tensioned electric and fixed frame options, Parallax Stratos will be able to fit into installations up to 16 feet in height.
The Contrast Based ALR surface will reject up to 80 percent of ambient light with 1.0 gain for standard throw projectors, Da-Lite explained. This type of screen prevents projected images from appearing washed out by maintaining and actually enhancing the brightness of the image. The gray color of the screen, and other proprietary design elements in the surface, absorb ambient light rather than reflect it.
“Parallax Stratos 1.0 expands our ALR offering to include screens such as Wireline Advantage and Tensioned Large Advantage,” Da-Lite Product Manager Rhen Taylor said in a statement announcing the new screen. “Now there’s a high value ambient light rejection solution for auditoriums, convention halls and other large venues that require screens larger than 120-inches diagonal.”
Da-Lite said that the Parallax Stratos will be covered by a comprehensive five-year warranty. Current Da-Lite customers can also take advantage of the Screen Green program, which allows them to send in old surfaces to be recycled and kept out of landfills.
