The Value of Second-Tier Vendors
D&H recently added Garmin GPS units to its line card, which boasts a number of tier-one manufacturers in the consumer electronics and commercial IT markets. But as proud as it is of those manufacturers, the distributor pays equal attention to emerging vendors, several of which were on the show floor at D&H’s recent Mid-Atlantic Technology Show.
“We support hundreds of vendors that don’t do business with any other distributor,” said Dan Schwab, D&H’s vice president of marketing. “Their products act as a differentiator that gives retailers something to compete with. That’s one of the things D&H does well.”
3DConnexion, a division of Logitech, is one of those new vendors. The company produces the SpaceNavigator 3D mouse, which lets users pan, zoom and rotate 3D scenery on such applications as Google Earth without having to stop to select commands.
