D&H Distributing announced Monday that it has reached an agreement with Slacker, Inc., to distribute its Slacker Portable Radio Player product. Calling itself “the world’s first personal radio player,” the product enables users to access up to 40 Internet radio stations that matches their personal tastes.
“Breakthrough categories like portable Internet radio help the market progress, so they deserve our attention,” D&H’s director of purchasing, Rob Eby, said as part of the announcement. “These products also give our dealers and retailers a more competitive offering. Slacker’s Personal Radio system has infused the radio foramt with the best elements of the digital media experience: customization, variety, autonomy and portability.”
Slacker has reached deals with all four major music publishers, giving users access to a universe of over two million songs. The service is available free on top of the purchase of the device, though premium services are available for $7.50 per month.
