D&H’s Schwab Celebrates 50 Years
The chief executive of D&H Distributing, Izzy Schwab, is celebrating 50 years as an employee with the firm, D&H announced this week. Schwab has been with the company for more than half of its nearly 90 years in business. The company was founded by Schwab’s father, David, in 1918. To commemorate the event, D&H celebrated at its Harrisburg office, and even had bobbleheads created for Schwab. In his half-century at D&H, Schwab has helped oversee the company’s growth from a regional distributor to a national one- and now, with the opening of its first Canadian warehouse, an international one.
Schwab came to the company in 1957, and worked his way up from the sales desk of its Baltimore office, later becoming operations manager, vice president of sales, president, and eventually CEO in 1999.
“I’m proud to have been able to guide the growth of D&H and see its success over the years,” Schwab said in a statement issued by the company. “Our continuity has helped us hold onto our values and keep service as a priority, which has paid off for our business and for our customers.”
