D&H Sees Shorter Upgrade Cycle For Touch Devices
D&H Distributing said this week that dealers should be prepared for a faster upgrade cycle for users of touchscreen devices. D&H sees the devices, including notebooks, ultrabooks, tablets and more, being replaced at the rate traditionally associated with smartphones.
This change was attributed by the company to the "dynamic evolution" of apps and features, which often require newer and faster hardware.
“The consumer is much more likely to purchase a new tablet in the $300 to $500 range in order to get the latest and greatest capability, similar to how people bought new iPhones to get Siri when it was first introduced,” Dan Schwab, the company's co-president, said as part of the release Thursday.
