D&M Vows Improvements, New Lines
D&M Holdings' dealer and retail partners can expect to see new product lines, including headphones; fresh point-of-sale merchandising and marketing efforts; improved supply chain management for quicker deliveries, faster time to market, higher product quality and greater cost efficiencies; and decentralized development for more relevant and up-to-date audio products.
The changes, all scheduled to hit during the next 12 to 18 months, are part of a yearlong effort by D&M CEO Jim Caudill, who was hired 12 months ago from Black & Decker, to improve the company's market strategies and operations. He also used the opportunity during a press conference at D&M's Mahwah, N.J. headquarters this week to establish confidence in the company's top management following the recent departure of two key North American executives.
"We're trying to energize the company for growth," he said. "When we step back and look at the portfolio, they're good categories but they're relatively mature categories. We're really trying to become forward looking and trend setting, as opposed to following those trends."
