DBL Introduces “Turbo Line”
DBL Distributing, Inc. has announced a new initiative designed to accommodate 2007 growth in their customer base, inventory and sales expected to reach into the double digits. The “Turbo Line,” an integrated order fulfillment system that automates scanning, weighing, taping and shipping label processes, was implemented and tested in Q4 2006 and has recently been incorporated into production. Michael Balaskovits, DBL senior vice president of operations, describes the benefits of the system, “We can better serve our customers with this newly deployed infrastructure, technology and processes by decreasing the error rate and overall time taken to ship a package while increasing our total packages shipped per day.”
