Dealer Data: CE Spending Expected to Drop
Spending on consumer electronics is expected to drop in the next 90 days- but sales of Macs are an exception. That’s according to a survey released this week by research firm ChangeWave, which looked at plans for consumer spending on CE.
The survey found that just 15 percent of respondents expect to spend more on electronics in the next 90 days, while 34 percent say they will spend less. The number represent a “net difference” of -13 from August of 2007, when 24 percent said “more” and 30 percent replied “no.”
An exception to the trend, however, was Apple, as 34 percent of those claiming plans to buy a laptop computer in the next 90 days said it would be a Mac (the number was 30 percent of desktop computers.)
