Dealer Data: North American Share of Flat-Panel Monitor Market Seen Dropping
The North American market share of LCD flat-panel monitors is expected to drop behind that of China in three years. That’s according to research release, titled the Quarterly Desktop Monitor Shipment and Forecast Report, North America this year will have 22.6 percent of the market for LCD shipments, behind only EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), with 35.2 percent; China is third with 18.4 percent.
But in 2011, China is projected to grab the second spot with 21.2 percent, with North America dropping to third with 19.2 percent.
The survey also found that LCD monitors and PCs will grow over time in shipments, while CRT monitors are expected to drop from more than 10 million worldwide this year to less than one million in 2012.
