"With the equipment we're going to sell over the next couple of decades, it's going to be required. You are not going to have any choice. You have to have a good, robust network and be able to sell it, so the stuff you are selling into customers' homes works correctly."
He and others belive that networking is the next major tech learning curve that AV specialists must surmount. "Our whole industry hinges on that one thing," he said. "It's hugely important."
There are plenty of good examples of how independent retailers have built basic networks that properly showcase today's digital solutions to full-blown infrastructures that future-proof their show floors.
