Sherman's sales process is now quicker and the close rate is better. Six months after the network upgrade, the new infrastructure has paid for itself, he said.
At Audiotronics, a retail-centric dealer with two stores in Roanoke, Va., the benefits of upgrading its salesfloor networks were "immediate and ongoing," said Alan Guyes, partner and home AV Buyer. Audiotronics upgraded its showroom networks to gigabit switches and more robust routers to handle the complex data streams generated by streaming AV and the Internet-tied demos of its Apple line. "The upgrade of our network allows us to properly demonstrate features that customers are asking about," he said. "What features? Netflix, Netflix and more Netflix."
The demo process has greatly improved at The Little Guys two-year-old highly networked location than at its previous store. But even better, said resident David Wexler, is that, "Our network sales are way up and consist of better parts than they once did."
