Building a network is an affordable investment, but it does have its challenges: avoiding bottlenecks and interference in network design, tweaking the network to add equipment or technologies, and future proofing. Getting The Little Guys new network to work properly was relatively easy but adding new devices to it can be tricky. "We have to make sure they're talking properly to everything else," Gunderston said. "It's not as bad as HDMI but it's not always working as easily as it should be."
Planning for the future isn't always easy. At one Audiotronics location, the need for speed is already pushing the existing network's limits, and the dealer is looking at replacing its gigabit routers.
