Some mobile retailers have taken a more independent approach to MySpace by posting pages that better suit their independent spirit.
“Our MySpace page is basically geared towards our 16-25 demographic. It’s hip, edgy, and raw,” which has helped it draw a strong response, said Michael Michne, owner of Precision Mobile Audio in Halfmoon, N.Y. “As opposed to our (company) Web site, we make no effort to be polite or hold back.”
In keeping the younger and older demographics separate, Precision’s MySpace page doesn’t link to its corporate page, and vice versa.
