Name: Bailey Granade
Job Title: Lead Tech/Programmer
Company: Home Cinema & Hi-Fi
Years in the Industry: 8
Major Accomplishments that you’re proud of: I’ve programmed some very large houses and fixed others I have not worked on initially. I’m proud because I never intended to become a programmer and I have taught myself a lot in last couple of years.
What do you like best about your job?: I like trying to solve problems and make customers dreams come true or exceed them.
What do you like least about your job?: I don’t like when product doesn’t come in and I am forced to wait to work which in turn makes the customer unhappy.
Favorite hobby: My favorite hobby is a tie between playing music and dabbling in wood working.
Last book you read: I think the last book I read was Alas, Babylon my junior year in high school.
Who is your hero and why?: My hero is my dad. No matter how much adversity he faces he is never one to shy away and keeps pushing while never giving up.
Favorite consumer tech device: Samsung televisions are probably my favorite device because they have an insanely amazing picture quality and just work so well.
What you’d be doing if you weren’t in tech: I would be in the music industry.
What’s the biggest problem the industry faces today, and how would you fix it?: The major problem is low margins and too many devices are trying to be smart and stream. Everything needs to go back to being exactly what it is and not a streamer.
What’s your outlook for the CE industry for the next five years?: Technology is always changing for the better. The more it helps with every day tasks, the more people are likely to continue buying and upgrading because it gives them more time to spend with family and friends and enjoying their passions.
