Name: Megan Larson
Job Title: Marketing Manager & Graphic Artist
Company: Capitol Sales
Years in the Industry: 11 years in marketing and graphic design, 9 months in the CE industry
Major Accomplishments that you’re proud of: 1) Designing and launching Capitol’s new logo. Nothing beats the feeling of designing the core symbol of a brand and seeing your coworkers and customers enjoy it as much as you do!
2) Creating and implementing Capitol’s new social media strategy. It’s great to see our dealers interacting with us more – especially when they give random shout-outs to their Capitol Salesperson.

What do you like best about your job?: The variety of projects – there’s never a dull moment!
What do you like least about your job?: Trying to explain to grandma what I do.
Favorite hobby: Enjoying nature.
Last book you read: Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
Who is your hero and why?: I don’t just have one hero. I find qualities in several people that I’ve come to really appreciate and learn from.
Favorite consumer tech device: The smartphone—it’s my camera, video recorder, GPS, calculator, flash light, laptop and countless other products all in one.
What you’d be doing if you weren’t in tech: I would be a retired lottery winner enjoying a tropical beach.
What’s the biggest problem the industry faces today, and how would you fix it?: We cannot assume that homeowners are comfortable with installing their own DIY products like video doorbells and smart thermostats. DIY products can be used by integrators to either get them in the door to gain a new customer or can be an easy add-on to a current project.
What’s your outlook for the CE industry for the next five years?: The CE industry will thrive. Smart home products are making our lives easier. Home networks will need to upgraded to accommodate all the devices connecting to them. TVs and speakers are always something every home will have.
