Name: Yolanda Correa
Job Title: Product Manager
Company: New Age Electronics, a division of SYNNEX Corporation
Years in the Industry: 15
Major Accomplishments that you’re proud of: Through the years, I’ve developed and enhanced internal tools that assist in inventory analysis. In a business where timing is everything, it’s critical to react quickly and make decisions that will give us a leg up against the competition. Being nominated for SYNNEX President’s club was also an amazing accomplishment. To be recognized as a top performer company-wide and get invited to a special getaway, which involved a lot of fun and relaxation, was a remarkable experience.
What do you like best about your job?: I get a sneak peak of all the cool stuff coming out.
Favorite hobby: Reading and going to museums.
Who is your hero and why?: My mom, hands down! She started working in the fields at a very tender age, had minimal schooling, and didn’t have an easy marriage. But she always found the strength and courage to keep moving forward. Until this day, she showers us with love and affection. And she keeps reminding us that if we are to do something, always give it 100 percent. Love you, Mami.
Favorite consumer tech device: Two and a half years ago, I started using the HP ENVY Spectre 13” notebook as my personal device. I love the form factor, light weight, and the fact that it is easy to travel with. Also, the SSD hard drive makes boot-up time almost non-existent.
What you’d be doing if you weren’t in tech: Working for a non-profit.
What’s your outlook for the CE industry for the next five years?: In the short term, I believe the PC market will rebound as supply improves and component costs stabilize and even come down. I also believe we will continue to see some shifts in the traditional PC space. As SSD costs continue to decrease, SSD Hard Drives will become the norm versus the current hard drives of today. I also believe that the outcome of the 2020 presidential election will have a significant impact on consumer confidence over the next five years.
