Job Title: SVP Business
Years in Industry: 10
Where You Grew Up, Live Now: I grew up in Carver, MA - home of cranberry bogs and historical cannon production. Here I received a better education in business from my Dad than any I have seen since. Now I live in Austin, TX - land of BBQ, humidity and music.
Education: I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern New Hampshire University.
Accomplishments: While I am quite proud of the "Speed to Scale," "Excellence in People Management," and "Delighting our Customers" Awards I won during my time at Amazon.com, I am most proud of the achievements made recently with Kano. Throughout the development of the Kano PC, Harry Potter Coding Kit, Star Wars Coding Kit, and Frozen Coding Kit, the Kano team has earned accolades such as "Time Magazine’s Best Invention" twice, "CES Innovation Award" twice, and many others. The incredible output from our small team brings me such pride and joy.
Last Book Read: Kingkiller Chronicle (again!)
Favorite Pastime: When my wife and I are not obsessing over our dogs, Ares & Bridget, I love spending time with my nieces and nephews. Whether it's impromptu magic shows, slamming trucks together, or playing Minecraft together online, the little ones keep me grounded and happy.
Favorite Movie: Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - Extended Edition (of course)
My Hero: My hero is my Dad: A self-taught businessman and salesperson who gave me every opportunity to learn and succeed throughout my life. He taught me not only negotiation, acumen, and how to be a great people-person, but how to put family first and give back to those who need it most. He was my baseball coach when I was 13, and still my life coach now that I'm 30.
If You Could be Anyplace Right Now, Where Would it Be and What Would You Be Doing?: Another favorite pastime of mine is travel. My wife and I have a bucket list of places to visit. New Zealand is high on that list. I would love to be sight-seeing in Auckland and then drive out to see the set of Lord of the Rings where you can drink a beer at the Green Dragon.
