DEI Holdings, Inc. announced Thursday that it has been acquired by Charlesbank Capital Partners. The deal is for $285 million, including assumption of debt, and has been approved by both boards.
DEI is the parent company of the Directed Electronics, Definitive Technology, Polk Audio and Viper name brands.
"We are pleased to announce this agreement as it delivers significant value to our shareholders," Troy Templeton, chairman of DEI's board, said as part of the announcement.
