Denon Introduces First Blu-ray Player as Part of New Line
Denon Electronics Tuesday announced a slew of new-product that included the debut of its first-ever Blu-ray Disc player – the BD-ROM Profile 1 version 1.1 $1,999 DVD-3800BDC.
The Blu-ray player will be available this fall, and between now and December Denon will also roll out a 13-model A/V receiver lineup that represents what Joe Stinziano, the company’s new senior vice president of sales and marketing, termed “the first turnover in 10 years of the whole receiver line.”
The line ranges in price from the $5,199 flagship, AVR-5308CI (replacing the 5805CI and 4806CI), which includes a “kitchen sink” of features, Stinziano said; it is the world’s first receiver to use Silicon Optix’s Realta HQV chip-set. The balance of the line then skips downward from the AVR-43080CI’s $2,499 SRP to address the meat of the high-performance A/V receiver market.
