DeVesto Kickstarts Como Audio’s First Music Systems
Audio product entrepreneur Tom DeVesto has re-entered the market arena with the launch of a Kickstarter campaign June 7 where he fielded the first two products of his new audio company and brand, Como Audio. DeVesto was most recently known as the founder of the audio brand and company Tivoli Audio, which he sold last year, and before that, Cambridge SoundWorks.
The Solo and the Duetto became available on that date at an early-buyer discount to the first 50 purchasers of each model. When the 40-day Kickstarter period ends, the models will be available for $299 and $399, respectively.
In terms of ease of use, “these products both pass the ‘guest room test,’” DeVesto said at their unveiling to a group of audio and trade writers who were able to demo the models at a New York City press event. “We’ve been able to take all forms of content and make them accessible through these music systems with just the simple touch of a button – there’s no external app or remote control needed.” Supported content currently includes FM radio, Spotify, Internet radio and Bluetooth. Deezer is “on the roadmap” to be added in the fall, via a Wi-Fi upgrade, he said.
