D&H Encourages Retailers to Offer Battery Packs, Accessories to Address Pokémon Go
- D&H offers a strategy for retailers to capitalize on Pokémon Go craze
- Suggests offering portable power bank products, accessory bundles
- Audio bundles could be a hot target for mobile app gamers as well
D&H Distributing, the leading North American computer products and consumer electronics distributor, wants its retailers, etailers and dealers to profit from the latest trends—including the wild popularity of Niantic’s Pokémon GO mobile game, which has users running-down smartphone batteries with abandon across the country. Retailers can capitalize on this phenomenon by offering any of the hundreds of portable power bank products D&H carries, which can be part of an accessory bundle for smartphones and mobile devices. The distributor offers portable chargers and external batteries from manufacturers including Incipio, myCharge, GO PUCK, Survivor, BodyGuardz and more, including the “HyperJuice Pearl” Compact Mirror and USB Rechargeable Battery Pack, a novel combination product by Hyper. Several of these manufacturers, including Incipio, offer items in colors that coordinate with Pokémon GO teams (blue, red, yellow).
In addition, audio continues to be a hot category, with Bluetooth accessories that can be rolled into a Pokémon GO bundle. Bluetooth headsets in fact may become a more essential accessory going forward, as certain device manufacturers are trending away from the incorporation of headphone jacks. D&H offers Bluetooth headphones from Jabra, Plantronics, Samsung and more, in a range of price points.
