Distributors Focus On New World Solutions
Holzer: There are several things we have added, but the most important is not new. It is the continuance of adding new categories and products, affording our dealers the opportunity for additional offerings and allowing them to stay one step ahead of the big-box stores, and also with more convenient locations, so they have minimum inventory to stock.
Davis: To improve our offering, we’ve established new features on our dandh.com website, such as a new Deal Spot page that showcases overstock, closeouts and remanufactured product. In addition, we just launched our “What’s Trending” tool, which updates throughout the day, showing dealers what products are trending high in several key product categories. There’s also the Partner Services program, which provides our customers with materials they can use to advertise relevant technologies and products to promote their businesses.
Satoren: For DSI, the biggest change came a year ago, when we split our business, and more importantly, our sales force into two divisions, one being the satellite/broadband division (DirecTV/Exede), and the other, the consumer electronics division. Our sales team is now more specialized and focused on each of these two distinctly different businesses, allowing us to become more consultative for our dealers and better help them navigate the extremely competitive world we live in.
