Distributors Focus On New World Solutions
Stewart: ‘App-cessories’ have become increasingly popular, especially among our wireless audiences. We’re very prepared to respond to this influx and are working closely with our manufacturer partners, such as Belkin, Scosche, Parrot, Jawbone and Griffin, to stock the latest and greatest app-cessories on the market. Another trend we see impacting our business is portable accessories, specifically Bluetooth speakers and portable chargers. This is especially true as our dealers are preparing for the spring and summer months, when their customers are spending more time outdoors, traveling and just on-the-go.
Lageyre: The IT industry shifting from computers to mobile devices is having a significant impact on the channel itself. A notebook computer is losing out to a tablet PC every single day in various environments. SED is focused on maximizing its efforts in all spaces to service every need. The PC isn’t dead; it can co-exist in the mobile world. In fact, it can thrive. The key is the user experience and how to best relate the solution to the customers’ needs. Regardless of the solution, SED is aligned with our dealers to assist in helping them become total solution providers. This includes breaking-in TV dealers in the IT world, and vice versa.
Bamrick: Over the past year the demand from our customers for outdoor electronics and fitness has increased significantly. Anticipating that growth to continue in 2013, IMCE has partnered with industry leaders such as Coleman, Open Country and Freestyle, and we’ve expanded product lines with existing partners such as Magellan and Uniden to meet this demand. This initiative should enable dealers to expand product offerings and gain margin potential.
