DOJ Needs More Information, Sirius Says
The U.S. Department of Justice is still looking into the proposed XM-Sirius merger and needs additional data, the man who would be CEO of the combined company, Mel Karmazin, told Bloomberg News.
The Justice Department’s antitrust chief, Thomas Barnett, had said much the same thing in Congressional testimony last week. There is no official timetable for the consideration of the merger by Justice or by the Federal Communications Commission, but Sirius and XM have both said that they plan to vote on the merger in November.
Karmazin made the comments immediately after appearing on “The Charlie Rose Show.”
