DS Index: Retailer Confidence Remains Steady Heading into Spring Months
As the calendar turns from March to April and the season changes from Winter to Spring, consumer electronics retailers’ confidence remained relatively flat in the latest Dealerscope CE Retail Confidence Index. Coming off of a bounce-back month, the DS Index score rose slightly more than a point in April, reaching 198.18.
Respondents’ level of confidence, which is the second-highest in the survey’s six-month history, was driven by an improved weather outlook, consumers’ receiving (and spending) tax returns, and an improved economic outlook.
“Generally, April is one our best months, for our business,” said one CE retailer. “It has gone up year after year, and we do not see any drops.”
