Asking Alexa to play tunes through your favorite DTS Play-Fi enabled speaker just got a little bit easier. DTS, the high-fed audio solutions provider and Xperi Corporation subsidiary, announced that consumers can now access their go-to Play-Fi powered speaker as the Preferred Speaker for an Alexa Smart Home Group.
The Preferred Speaker feature basically allows users to identify, through the Alexa app, their default playback device when offering audio-related commands to the Amazon voice assistant. So, in working with Amazon to get a laundry list of DTS Play-Fi speakers up and running on the program, users can now tell Alexa to play their favorite tunes through their favorite speaker.
“We are excited to share this feature through the wide breadth of DTS Play-Fi powered devices,” Dannie Lau, general manager, DTS Play-Fi, said in a statement. “With this new ability, customers worldwide now have a simpler way of playing their music on their preferred speakers throughout their Alexa smart home.”
