E-Commerce Audio - Fight for Acceptance
John Beyer, general manager of B&K, said his company has opted not to sell on the web. "As an upscale product and the complexity of the home theater, we feel that you really need a dealer [in person] who can: A. recommend and match the components and B. do the install," he said.
B&K found posting product information on the web beneficial but doesn't see e-commerce as the next step.
Still, HiFi, CoolAudio and GetPlugged have reported better-than-expected successes. But will this lead to an explosion of on-line retailers?
