E-Recycling Web Site Launched
A consortium of major CE manufacturers last week launched a Web site aimed at helping manufacturers to comply with state recycling laws.
The group, The Electronic Manufacturers Recycling Management Company, consists of Panasonic, Sharp and Toshiba, and was formed in the fall of 2007. The new site is at www.MRMrecycling.com, and it employs special calendar software to show them how best to comply with requirements.
“MRM was founded on the principle that the best way to achieve the economies of scale and efficiencies necessary to create a sustainable recycling system for used electronics is for an independent company to manage collaborative electronic recycling programs,” the group’s president, David Thompson, said as part of the announcement.
