Early Apple Watch Reviews Are Mostly Positive
The first reviews of Apple's new Apple Watch wearable product surfaced Wednesday morning, and critics at major tech news outlets were mostly positive about the new device, the first major new category unveiled by Apple in the Tim Cook era.
Re/code's Lauren Goode wrote that "of the half-dozen smartwatches I’ve tested in recent years, I’ve had the best experience with Apple Watch," although she cautioned that ht product is not exactly for everyone, since not everyone has an iPhone 5 or newer, now does everyone want notifications on their wrist all the time.
The Wall Street Journal's Geoffrey Fowler opined that "The Apple Watch puts the iPhone in its proper place—your pocket.." He praised the watch as a time management tool, since it now allows users to get notifications without whipping their phone out of their pocket. He went on to state that "Apple Watch isn’t a replacement for the iPhone, but it’s the right screen for many important things." Also at the Journal, Joanna Stern praised the device as "it’s selling good looks and coolness, with some bonus computer features," although she cautioned that some of the features are hard to find.
