Early Samsung Galaxy Fold Reviewers Report Failing Screens
I know that I had my doubts about this coming massive wave of foldable phones that are about to hit the smartphone market, but no part of me ever wanted to see a company fall so hard on their face—even Samsung. But that’s exactly what appears to be happening with the early review units of the Galaxy Fold that the company shipped out to major tech publications this week.
Despite a Samsung statement that suggests “a limited number” of their Galaxy Fold devices are experiencing display issues, nearly every single name of names in the tech space has posted a tweet, photo, or article highlighting major issues with the device after just two days of hands-on, regular use.
My first exposure to any issues with the device came from famed YouTuber Marques Brownlee, who posted a photo of his first review unit. He started peeling what he assumed was a protective film layer that ended up being the actual screen, which resulted in the screen blacking out.
