Crap & Trade & the CE Industry
Certainly a part of the pricing structure of these products comes from labor costs, which is why you see manufacturing in Mexico, China, India and now even Vietnam. Lower manufacturing cost plays a major role in bringing these products to an affordable consumptive price.
How evil then is oil and coal now that you consider the number of jobs created all around the world to build consumer electronics products that are made from the science of earth products? Do you know what silicon is made from? How evil are these products when you consider the manufacturing in the automotive industry that is going on in these same countries? Can we stop to consider the rise in a living wage for the people of the world that comes from manufacturing electronics, electrical appliances and automobiles?
Can we also take a little time to understand how many solar panels we are going to have to stack on the roofs of our homes in order to generate enough power to run all of the electronics and appliance products we have? How many windmills do we need in our back yards? I can tell you in Southern California we do not have room for more than a very tiny in many of our backyards. Oh, and a small point on those windmills…guess how much lubricant (oil) each of them uses in a year to keep the inner parts moving smoothly? How much will it cost in monthly maintenance to even keep these windmills operational? And may I ask what happens if the wind does not blow on a day you need some energy?
