All in All, It's Just Another Brick in the Wall
The Obama administration and Congress are continually penalizing small business owners and their employees. The latest case in point is the Dodd-Frank financial regulation bill recently passed by Congress. This regulatory behemoth of 2,300 some pages is another piece to the puzzle of why America is not coming out of this recession.
Ninety percent of the consumer electronics business today is made up of what I consider to be small businesses - those companies with fewer than 200 employees, among other criteria. Some percentage of those businesses are in favor of the restructuring of capitalism, while some sit with a wait-and-see attitude with nothing collectively to say in opposition,and far too few are merely sitting on the sidelines.
Your question now may be, what is the Sachs Report doing talking about financial reform? I have a very clear understanding of what margins are available to both manufacturers and retailers who are involved in consumer electronics. These slim margins have reached critical mass for both entities and to have the hand of the government once again reaching into your pockets with nary an outcry seems extraordinarily passive to my pallet.
