Electronics Expo Sees Revenue Increase, Plans New Stores
Like many specialty dealers, Electronics Expo spent last year cutting costs and strengthening its basic business practices. The measures paid off, giving the New Jersey retailer a 17 percent year-over-year revenue increase and paving the way for the 16-store chain to open three more shops this year.
"We did that by being more focused on the entire business, watching inventory, streamline our talent and measuring everything," said CEO Leon Temiz at the PRO Group's Spring Meeting in Scottsdale, Ariz., adding that he is also seeing strong, early sales of 3DTVs
Expo has always had an aggressive expansion plan but sat tight in '09 until the economic storm settled. This year, though, the company plans to open a new store sometime this month, with two more to follow, all in New Jersey.
