Electronics Sales to Pass $160 Billion, CEA Says
The Consumer Electronics Association this week released its semi-annual U.S. Consumer Electronics Sales and Forecasts report, and among the findings were projections of 8 percent industry growth for the year, and a factory-to-dealer sales figure of $160 billion in the sector in 2007.
The report also found that display technologies will reach shipment totals of $26 billion for the year, while accessories will reach $9 billion.
“Just when we think we’ve reached the limits of our expansion, out industry continues to reach greater and greater heights. We are changing the lines of consumers every day by creating the products and innovations they love,” CEA president and CEO Gary Shapiro said in a statement.
