The Elite Distributor Alliance (EDA) announced that it has selected Metra as its latest Vendor of Record. EDA said in a statement that, among several other important initiatives taken at their INTEGRATE meeting held at the Hollywood Casino in St. Louis, MO, this week, adding Metra was near the top.
Metra’s Jake Bates and Jeff Fletcher “knocked it outta the park,” EDA president Josh Eatherly, of P&E Distributors, said in the statement. “These guys demonstrated Metra’s understanding of their own business, the category and the business needs of, and opportunities presented by the EDA distributors. Of course we all (the EDA distributors) know that Metra is a terrific company but this was such a refreshing business discussion. Fletch very enthusiastically handled the meat of the presentation and Jake managed the Q&A in masterful manner. Honest. Frank. Direct.”
In addition to adding Metra to the vendor roster, the Elite Distributor Alliance members took advantage of their time together. They “tightened up policies, refined methods, and perhaps as important as anything shared a good deal of ‘best practice’ type information with each other, that is normally held very close to the vest,” George McGoldrick of AM Distributors, said in the statement. But it was the Metra move that McGoldrick said was the key move of the week. “The EDA plan is to have ten strategically selected VoRs (Vendors of Record) by the end of 2016,” he said. “We don’t have to do it fast, we have to get it right.”
