Emerson Licenses Trademark to JS Karaoke
In a recently announced deal, Emerson Radio Corp. entered a licensing agreement with JS Karaoke (JSK) allowing the karaoke hardware and software distributor to make use of the Emerson trademark. Under the terms, a new wave of karaoke devices, including a microphone that can convert any DVD player and television set-up into a karaoke machine, plus other innovations to be announced at CES, will be produced by JSK subsidiary IXT Systems under the Emerson brand. The music arm of the company, Forever Hits, has struck deals with BMG, EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner Chappell for licenses and royalties.
