The Epson Pro Cinema and Home Cinema projector lines are being augmented, in late summer, respectively, by the 6040UB/4040 and the 5040UBe/5040UB; they feature Epson’s second-generation 4K Enhancement Technology. All the models accept 4K content, support HDCP 2.2, and they are also High Dynamic Range (HDR)-compatible. All four models also offer Wide Gamut display, showing the entire DCI color space, and provide 2D and 3D performance (glasses are included). They are being spotlighted at this week’s CE Week in New York City.
Three of the projectors carry a spec of up to 2,500 lumens of color and white brightness (the 4040 provides 2,200 Lumens), and 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast (the 4040 provides 160,000:1). And the 5040UBe is distinguished the world’s first WirelessHD projector which supports 4K content and boasts reliability in signal quality without lag time.
Other features include a new lens assembly designed and built in Japan as well as a new optical engine design. Placement flexibility has been enhanced, too, as the projectors are adjustable vertically by 100 percent and horizontally by 50 percent, with 10 storable lens positions. The 6040 is ISF-certified.
