Times Square was transformed into a venue for the U.S. National Synchronized Swimming Team on Thursday to help celebrate the launch of Epson’s new line of EcoTank printers. Sponsored by Epson, the U.S. Synchro team will participate in a “Swimming In Ink” event that will feature a series of never-before-seen swim routines played out in a massive, see-through tank of cyan, magenta, and yellow “ink.”
The tank, which is described as one of the largest to ever be constructed in Times Square, is meant to signify the new line of Epson EcoTank printers that the company said will come loaded and ready with up to two years of ink. And in conjunction with the “Swimming In Ink” event, Epson has partnered with Staples to provide “Print All you Want” days on the Epson EcoTank printers in 16 stores across the New York Metropolitan Area from September 23-25.
“With so much anticipation building for the availability of Epson’s new EcoTank printers, ‘Swimming In Ink’ is meant to herald their arrival at Staples and other national retail and online stores with the biggest splash possible,” Keith Kratzberg, executive vice president of Epson America, said in a statement. “We think the multi-colored, 17,000-gallon swim tank, combined with the precision and performance of USA Synchro, is a perfect representation of our new printing technology.”
