In this fast-paced, ever-changing world that we live in, nothing should come as much of a surprise anymore. Do I think smartphones could eventually meet their end? Sure. It’s bound to happen one way or the other. But with how engrained they are in our society and within our person—I mean, these things are literally extensions of our physical and emotional selves—five years seems like a bit of a stretch.
As for the Artificial Intelligence aspect of this conversation, the possibilities of the technology appear to be limitless, but it’s still early. Much development in the space needs to happen before I become anywhere close to comfortable accepting financial or medical advice from something that’s simply regurgitating information that it looked up on the internet. So, doctors, teachers, and H&R Block folks: you’re all safe for now.
