Escalate Completes MS SQL 2005 Tests
From March 27 to April 7, 2006, Escalate Retail tested out Microsoft SQL Server 2005 to see the maximum performance possible using the 64-bit edition and the results are in. After performing both stress and performance tests, Escalate discovered that the system could handle call center activity of over 24,000 orders through 1,200 call center users with a three minute order time per call. 20,000 orders could be entered each hour via batch order entry from file with order processing running at 60,000 per hour. This means an online retailer using this system could support $2.8 billion in annual revenue. Michael Julson, CTO of Escalate Retail, said, “The combination of Escalate Retail’s Ecometry product and SQL Server 2005 can clearly handle the largest order volumes of any multi-channel retailer in the industry.”
