Eversound Launches Connected Group Listening System for Seniors
Eversound, a company that manufactures audio technology geared toward older adults, unveiled its latest product, the GLS 2.0 wireless group listening system, at the Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference in Denver this week. The GLS 2.0 was part of the conferences “Fast and Furious” competition.
“Hearing loss is a natural part of the aging process, but when it is left unaddressed, it has been linked to mental decline, social isolation and depression,” Jake Reisch, CEO and co-founder of Eversound, said in a statement. “With the 65+ population nearly doubling by 2050, we are excited to support some of the leading senior living communities to address such a critical need.”
The GLS 2.0 systems, which are sold in multiples of 10 headphone sets, come with a compact wireless transmitter that broadcasts audio signals from almost any common audio source to the Eversound headphones within a 300-foot range, the company explained. The headphones themselves are designed to provide improved audio for the senior listeners by concentrating on “clear delivery of frequencies that are typically first impacted by age-related hearing loss.” They also feature “intuitive” ergonomic controls and independent volume adjustment, which allows each listener to enjoy the audio at their own level of preference.
