Everyone in the CE business knows the real reason why there are (usually) only 28 days in February: The calendar is taking mercy on us. The sooner this traditionally slow month ends, the sooner we can slide into the friendly thaw of March, April and May.
For some CE categories, February holds its own, but it's fair to say the combined effect of post-CES fatigue, the bank card ghosts of Christmas Past and the nasty weather can put a genuine crimp in consumer spending.
Even though February is the shortest of all months, it does not need to be written off as a disaster.
