Ex-Fry's Executive to Be Sentenced
The former high-level Fry's Electronics executive arrested three years ago for embezzling $65 million from the company will be sentenced later this year.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Ausaf "Omar" Siddiqui, the former vice president of merchandising for Fry's, will be sentenced in December after reportedly pleading guilty earlier this year.
Upon his arrest in December 2008, Siddiqui was accused of perpetuating a scheme in which he received kickbacks from suppliers in exchange for buying their goods at inflated prices. He allegedly used much of the money to gamble in Las Vegas.
