FenSens Launches Smart Wireless Parking Sensor with Hands-Free App
While the world waits for self-driving cars to officially hit the road, consumers will have to settle for smart car tech that focuses on keeping drivers and passengers safe. Though car manufacturers are implementing smart car tech at a higher rate nowadays, most car-driving consumers are stuck with "dumb" cars. But that's where the aftermarket retailer can step in and offer consumers the right tech to take that dumb car and bring it into the 21st century.
A new addition to the aftermarket car tech lineup comes courtesy of FenSens. On Thursday, the company sent a note to Dealerscope announcing the launch of a new smart wireless parking sensor that works while paired with a hands-free app available on both iOS and Android.
FenSens, which is available for preorder now on Indiegogo, is a simple license plate cover with a ton of technology packed into it. Unlike other aftermarket parking assistant solutions, FenSens doesn't require an additional digital screen to be installed in the vehicle, nor does any rewiring need to happen between the device and the vehicle. As a wireless product, FenSens gets attached to a standard license plate and runs on your basic AA batteries. The sensor works through the FenSens app to alert drivers when they get too close to an object like a car, curb, or pedestrian in the driver's rear blind spot.
