What’s Old is New Again
I often get asked, “What’s going on with our industry? Things aren’t like they used to be. Business is slow. We’re not selling amps and woofers like we used to.” My response is always the same. “What is it that you used to do that you are no longer doing?” That may seem like a simple answer to a very complex question, but if you step back and take a look at what got you where you are today, it may surprise you.
How often did you run a parking lot event, tent sale, warehouse sale, bikini car wash or promotion of any kind? Are you still doing this? Are you doing the things that draw excitement so you get the opportunity to show your customers what is possible? If you’ve been in business for any time at all, you have probably tried every type of promotion you could imagine.
I’ll bet you are saying, “Who is this guy? What does he know? It’s easy for a factory guy to sit back and tell me what I’m doing wrong.”
