First Android Phone Will Cost $199
The first mobile handset to carry the Google-developed Android operating system will hit the market at a similar price to Apple’s iPhone 3G.
According to the Wall Street Journal the HTC Dream, to introduced next week on T-Mobile, will cost $199. That price is even with the iPhone price but more expensive than the Sprint/Samsung Instinct, which is another direct competitor.
The first Android phone is scheduled to be introduced in New York next week, with a release scheduled for later this fall.
