Focal Sib Evo 5.1.2 Unveiled at CE Week, a Future-proof Home Theater in a Box
Not ready to fall too far behind 4K and HDR TVs, speaker manufacturers have been adding the next evolution of surround sound, Dolby Atmos (and its counterpart DTS:X) to their portfolios since the technologies inception a few years ago.
This makes Focal's newest collection, dubbed the Sib Evo, a worthy offering to the market and an industry standard when constructing form and function.
Officially announced at CE Week, the Sib Evo has a couple of different positive aspects to consider when looking at white space in the home theater market. It's most attractive quality is the high-quality elements that have made Focal so popular in the first place. The 5.1.2 setup has 5" Polyflex woofers and 3/4" soft dome tweeters across all five speakers, with 4" upward-firing full-range speakers for the Dolby Atmos in the two larger speakers. The perfectly square woofer is minimalistic and sports an 8-inch down-firing Polyflex woofer in a front-ported MDF box with black matte finish. It has all the usual offerings (crossover, phase, on/off with auto power option) and rated down to 35 Hz at -3dB.
