For Holiday TV Shoppers, Picture Comes First
For all of the considerations given to which TV to buy this holiday season, the number one factor is picture quality. That's according to a survey put Thursday by research firm NPD DisplaySearch.
According to NPD's DisplaySearch Quarterly Smart TV Usage Study, picture quality is the top factor in TV purchases, followed by high-definition, screen size and sound quality. Price, perhaps surprisingly, was a distant sixth on the list.
“The front-of-screen experience is paramount to consumers around the world, over-and-above the latest high-tech bells and whistles,” Riddhi Patel, research director for NPD DisplaySearch, said as part of the announcement.
